Welcome to

Mrs. Sutphin

Angela Sutphin is a native of Roanoke and now resides in Salem. She graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. She is a licensed minister and is working toward Ordination as an Elder through the Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Sutphin homeschooled her children for 10 years, taught various Science classes in homeschool Co-ops. As the Assistant Children’s Pastor  she has led the Caravan class (K-6th children’s discipleship class) at Living Well Church of the Nazarene.

She and her husband will have been married for 21 years this year. Her oldest graduated from KCA and her two younger sons attend KCA. They are in 9th and 6th grade.

Mrs. Sutphin enjoys teaching VBS, fishing, jewelry making, cheering for her boys in basketball, and playing games. She loves learning more about God, and experiencing how God reveals Himself in Creation. Her favorite verses come from Psalm 91:1-2.

Mrs. Hodges

Melanie Hodges resides in the Roanoke Valley. She graduated from Bluefield Christian College in 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education, and she is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Elementary Special Education through Grand Canyon University. Mrs. Hodges has volunteered, worked as a teacher’s aide, and a substitute teacher for Roanoke City Public Schools for several years, as well as homeschooled her children for 3 years. Recently, she’s been subbing at KCA and she also is the assistant coach for our middle school basketball team!

Mrs. Hodges and her husband will have been married 22 years this year. Her two children attend KCA and they are in 10th and 8th grade. Her family attends Mount Olive Church in Roanoke, Virginia, for simple family worship.

In her spare time, Mrs. Hodges enjoys playing volleyball and pickleball, crocheting, crafting, and  cheering on her children in basketball, volleyball, and soccer. Mrs Hodges loves encouraging others to “do justly, love mercy, and to walk humbly with the Lord”, Micah 6:8.
